A rare circa 1940's period 'Fife and Forfar Yeomanry sweetheart brooch'; fashioned from a collar badge, the lightweight die-stamped silvered armoured knight, normally referred to as the 'Thain of Fife' bearing shield and horse's armour decorated with crests. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings.

WW1 Fife and Forfar Yeomanry, Gilt & Enamel Scottish Regimental Sweetheart Brooch, PIN FITTINGS REMOVED.

A rare First World War period 'Fife and Forfar Yeomanry sweetheart brooch', gilt armoured knight, normally referred to as the 'Thain of Fife', the shield inlaid with yellow enamel, the horse's armour decorated with red crests. the reverse with evidence of having had a pin shank and hook, but for some unseemly reason these having been removed many years ago, otherwise I would have classed this in very good condition.
Height 31mm.

This is the first part of a large collection of First World War period, rare and wonderful sweetheart brooches, all in superb condition but with their pin fittings removed. These came attached on what could possibly be classed as a retailer's sample display board.
