Pre-1908 'Royal Gloucestershire Hussars Imperial Yeomanry' Silver Sweetheart Brooch.

A very rare pre-1908 pattern 'Royal Gloucestershire Hussars Imperial Yeomanry silver gilt sweetheart brooch', in the form of the crest from the 'Arms of the Dukes of Beaufort', a portcullis surmounted by 'Ducal Coronet' flanked by an additional "IY" and bordered by the tri-part title scroll, the reverse impressed "Sterling" and maker's details "T.L.M" (Thomas Lynton Mott). Very good condition, complete original pin fittings and light gilt finish.

A rare original First World War period 'Royal Gloucestershire Hussars silver and enamel sweetheart brooch', in the form of the crest from the 'Arms of the Dukes of Beaufort' who were Honorary Colonels of the Regiment, a portcullis surmounted by 'Ducal Coronet' and bordered by the tri-part title scroll, the reverse impressed "Sterling". Very good condition, retaining original pin fitting, hook a replacement with safety catch device, enamel with very minor nick to left swallowtail and surface scratches.
