A scarce original Great War period 'Tank Corps sweetheart brooch' a well detailed example depicting the badge of the regiment mounted on a slim bar, the reverse impressed "9ct" (9 carat gold). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings.

The 'Tank Corps' was formed in July 1917 from the 'Heavy Branch of the Machine Gun Corps' it became 'Royal' in 1924.

WW2 Tanks' Victory Club Life Membership Badge.

A scarce original Second World War period 'Tanks Victory Club' badge, silver plated circular example with light blue title surround, the centre depicting in relief, a tank emerging from a 'V for Victory' symbol, with an additional 'Life Member' scroll below. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel intact except for a tiny nick to left bottom scroll.

Formed in 1941 by tank pioneers of the First World War. The movement was aimed at bringing more tanks off the production line and to help the men of the 'Royal Tank Regiment' and families of those that had fallen. Branches were formed and were known as a 'Tank', with the founder of the branch taking the rank of 'Tank Commander', anyone could become a member for the sum of one shilling monthly subscription of which 25% went to the men of the regiment and families of the fallen, with the remainder of the money raised going to Lord Beaverbrook 'Speed the Tanks' campaign.
