A good original First World War period 'West Yorkshire Regiment sweetheart brooch'; cap badge style gilded brass running horse badge, the title scroll below inlaid with blue enamel and mounted on a mother of pearl disc. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.

A scarce '1st West Yorkshire Regiment silver prizel spoon', the rifle shank with target between the butts, supporting a regimental badge bearing title scroll "1st West Yorkshire" below with "Ca Ira" (The West Yorkshire Regiment March) scroll above, the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1928 and maker's details "F&S" (Fattorini & Sons Ltd.). Very good condition.
The 'West Yorkshire Regiment (14th of Foot) took its regimental march “Ca Ira” (a French revolutionary song) from its French adversaries at the 'Battle of Famars in Flanders 1793.
