A very unusual First World War period 'Mizpah sweetheart brooch', rolled gold wire work script from each end suspends a pendant heart. Very good condition, complete with pin fitting, minimal wear to gold plating.

Victorian Ivy Leaves Mizpah Benediction,1885 Chester Hallmarked Silver Sweetheart Brooch by Alfred James Cheshire.

A scarce unusual Victorian 'Mizpah hollow silver sweetheart brooch', conjoined leaves one inscribed 'Mizpah' with floral decoration in high relief enhanced with gold plating, the other with "The Lord Watch Between Me & Thee When We Are Absent One From Another", the reverse impressed with Chester silver hallmarks for 1885 and maker's details "A.J.C" (Alfred James Cheshire, Birmingham). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, old minor restoration to reverse where leaves join.
