Victorian Sphinx Egypt Laurel Wreath Sweetheart Brooch.

A mysterious and very interesting Victorian period possibly Boer War brooch; large die-stamped white metal closed top laurel wreath, mounted with hollow scalloped edge oval, bearing 'Sphinx on Egypt tablet' with asp or cobra to its temple. Very good condition, retaining original coiled pin fitting and hook catch.
