A scarce original First World War period 'H.M.S.Hood sweetheart brooch'; gilded brass ships crest, depicting a Cornish chough and anchor from the crest of 'Admiral Hood' resting on title scroll inlaid with blue green enamel and mounted on mother of pearl disc. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
Diameter 28mm.

HMS Hood was launched in August 1918 and went down in Naval History following her disastrous engagement with the German Battleship 'Bismarck' in May 1941.
