Royal Flying Corps pilot wing silver guilloche enamel RFC sweetheart brooch

A superb quality circa 1930's purpose made large rhodium plated 'Royal Flying Corps sweetheart brooch' probably retailed by Gieves London, "RFC" crest within a green enamel wreath surmounted by a red enamel King's Crown, the wings with exquisite translucent powder blue enamelling, the reverse impressed "Silver". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings incorporating safety roller catch, no stress or damage to the enamel, housed in an associated velvet lined fitted leather case with retailer's details to the inside lid, this is much earlier than the brooch and has heavy age wear.
