WW1 Royal Engineers RE At Work sweetheart brooch

A superb and very rare First World War period gilt and enamel 'Royal Engineers R.E. At Work sweetheart brooch' depicting a figural scene of men of the Corps undertaking engineering work, the reverse impressed in relief "Reg No 65581" a Registration, Design and Patent date of 1916. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
