Royal Navy Ship HMS Valiant 1919 silver pennant sweetheart brooch
A scarce First World War period 'HMS Valiant sweetheart brooch' depicting a crowing cockeral with title scroll below "Valiant Yet Vigilant", the reverse bearing Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1919 and with maker's details "G.L" (G Loveridge & Co). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings an over sized replacement pin, no chips to the enamel, but a number of surface scatches.

HMS Valiant was a Queen Elizabeth-class Battleship built by the Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, launched November 1914 and Commissioned February 1916, part of Fifth Battle Squadron of the Grand Fleet she fought at the Battle of Jutland. She also served in World War II and was sold for scrapping in 1948.
