A scarce circa 1948 -1953 'Royal Marines Forces Volunteer Reserve' gilt and enamel lapel badge bearing a King George VI Crown. Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel, gilt remains bright.
Height 31mm.

The Royal Marines Forces Volunteer Reserve were officially formed on the 5 November 1948, the Reservists were mostly Royal Marines who had gained experience in World War II, they were trained in order to support the Corps during the Cold War period.
