WW1 Somme Battle Sweetheart Brooch.

A scarce First World War period battle brooch, ornate gilt and enamel filigree crescent within a lion and shield, beneath the suspended gilt letters 'Somme'. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt remains bright, an excellent example.
