WW1 Gordon Highlanders, Scottish Regimental Silver Sweetheart Brooch by A & J Smith, Aberdeen.

A finely quality large First World War period 'Gordon Highlanders sweetheart brooch' in the form of a sporran badge, the crest of the 'Marquis of Huntly' a stag's head issuing from a Ducal Coronet surmounted by a King's Crown over motto 'Bydand' all resting on a title scroll below, the reverse impressed "Silver" and with maker's or retailer's details "A & J Smith Aberdeen" (Alexander and John Smith, 23-25, St. Nicholas Street, and, 191, Union Street Aberdeen). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings.
