Parachute Regiment Airborne Forces Wooden Regimental Sweetheart Brooch by B.A.Oxley 48 Thames St Windsor.

A rare original circa 1950's large wooden 'Airborne Forces sweetheart brooch' with applied veneer of a lighter wood in the form of a 'Airborne Pegasus', the reverse impressed with maker's details 'B.A.Oxley 48 Thames St. Windsor'. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings.
Height 43mm.

The 'Pegasus' badge was designed by Edward Seago, the well known landscape artist and was worn as a formation sign by men of the Airborne Forces.
