A scarce '8th VB Battalion The King's (Liverpool Regiment)' large silver spoon, the finial with cap style badge of the Regiment, a St. Andrew's Cross with superimposed wreath of thistles surmounted by an Imperial Crowned, the central 'White Horse of Hanover' on a scroll with Old English lettering "Kings", the reverse bearing Sheffield silver hallmarks for 1903 and maker's details "HE Ld" (Hawksworth, Eyre & Co Ltd Rockingham Street, Sheffield). Very good condition, still retaining the original gilt finish to the bowl.
Length 157mm.

8th Volunteer Battalion was formed in 1900 from Scottish Residents of Liverpool and became 10th Battalion "Liverpool Scottish" 1st April 1908 on transfer to the Territorial Force.
