Boer War Royal Engineers 1902 Hallmarked Silver Horseshoe Sweetheart Brooch.

A rare Boer War 'Royal Engineers regimental sweetheart brooch', hollow silver horseshoe impressed 'S. Africa 99 - 1902' with an applied badge displaying the Royal Crest above a "RE' cypher with 'Ubique' scroll, the reverse bearing Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1902 and with maker's details "F.N" (Frederick Narborough, Birmingham). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings.
