A scarce First World War period Canadian Expeditionary Force '160th Infantry Battalion CEF sweetheart brooch' gilt and enamel Crowned circlet titled "Bruce" bearing a thistle to the center all within a maple leaf wreath bearing scrolls "Overseas" "160" "Battalion" "Canada" and motto "Amo Patria". the reverse faintly impressed with maker's details "Tiptaft". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, perfect enamel, gilt remains fresh, an excellent example.
