A fine quality rare 'Desert Rats' gold cravat tie pin in the form of a small Jerboa, the reverse bearing Birmingham 9 carat gold hallmarks for 1991. Very good condition, retaining original stick pin fitting complete with safety stop.
Originally formed in Egypt 1938; in December 1939 redesignated '7th Armoured Division' and its commander, Major General Sir Michael O'Moore Creagh, adopted the Jerboa as the divisional sign. The Jerboa was also worn by the 4th and 7th Armoured Brigades.
