WW1 Royal Flying Corps Monoplane 'The Allies Aeroplane' Silver Guilloche Translucent Enamel Aviation Badge, United Flags of the Nations England, Belgium, Russia, France & Japan.
A very fine quality First World War period 'Royal Flying Corps Monoplane patriotic badge' depicting the flags of the Allies, the reverse impressed "The Allies Aeroplane" "Sterling" and "Regd No 644982" a registered, design and patent date of 1915 and with maker's details "W.W.Ld" (W Wilkinson Ltd. Skinner Street & Clerkenwell Road, London). Very good condition, complete with original propeller, retaining original hook, but a old replacement pin shank, perfect enamel without stress which is very rare to find. The four tiny hooks on the reverse would have originally held a thin wire cable in a triangular shape, this now absent but nevertheless an exceptional example, the best I have ever seen.
Length 41mm.
ALL BROOCHES ARE SUPPLIED WITH A BRAND NEW BLACK PLUSH LINED PRESENTATION BOX.
