A rare original '1st Punjab Regiment Indian Army silver sweeheart brooch' converted from an officer's collar badge, elephant facing left with "Assaye" scroll below; the reverse bearing Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1924 and with maker's details "JRG&S" "Gaunt London". Very good condition, original loops replaced with pin fittings possibly at the time, minor surface scratches.
Height 18mm.
