A scarce First World War period 'HMS Princess Royal gilt and enamel sweetheart brooch'. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, some minor manufacturers infill flaws to the cypher.
Height 33mm.

HMS Princess Royal was Royal Navy Lion-class battlecruisers, built by Vickers, Barrow-in-Furness, launched on 29th April 1911, she became the flagship of the 1st Battlecruiser Squadron, under the command of Rear-Admiral Osmond Brock, finally being sold for scrap in 1922.
