WW1 Australian Souvenir, 9ct Gold Sweetheart Brooch by Willis, Melbourne.

A scarce First World War period 'Austalian Souvenir' sweetheart brooch; hollow gold lucky wishbone with applied 'Map of Australia' to the centre and single letters on a bar forming the title 'Souvenir"; the reverse impressed with three marks in separate boxes, unicorn, 9 (9 carat gold) and a "W", for Willis of Melbourne. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no dents or distortions, a break in the bar between letters 'I' and 'R' with an attempted repair using lead solder, otherwise perfect.
