A fine quality wartime period, classical style 'Royal Air Force gold sweetheart brooch', the central polished 'RAF' monogram mounted by a King's Crown and flanked by perfectly formed feathered wings; the reverse impressed "9ct" (9 carat gold) and unusual maker's details "LW&G" (Lawson Ward & Gammage Ltd). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings incorporating safety roller catch.
