WW1 Royal Navy Ship H.M.S. King Edward VII 1915 silver sweetheart brooch
A rare First World War period 'HMS King Edward VII silver sweetheart brooch', the reverse bearing London silver hallmarks for 1915 and maker's details "CW&Sn" (C Widmer & Sons Clerkenwell, London). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings and gilt finish.
Diameter 27mm.
HMS King Edward VII was a pre-dreadnought battleship, built at Devonport Dockyard and launched in 1903. She was mined off Cape Wrath on the 6 January 1916 and sunk some hours after the explosion, with the loss of one life, whilst the crew were being rescued.
