Royal Welsh Fusiliers silver regimental sweetheart brooch
A scarce First World War period 'Royal Welsh Fusiliers sweetheart brooch', small silver disc bearing a 'Welsh Dragon' on plinth inscribed 'RWF' in old script letters, mounted on a slender bar with later engraved title 'Royal Welch Fusiliers' the reverse impressed 'Sterling'. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings.

Diameter 16mm.
The Regiment variously used the spelling 'Welsh' and 'Welch' until the official spelling of 'Welch' was finally confirmed by Army Order 56 in 1920.
