EIIR Royal Navy & Merchant Navy Gold & Enamel 'Good Luck' Naval Signalling Flag Brooch.

A splendid fine quality gold and enamel nautical brooch, in the form of eight signalling flags, each superbly hand coloured in translucent enamel and spelling the phrase "Good Luck" and flown from a tall mast; the reverse impressed with Birmingham 9 carat gold hallmarks for 1953 and maker's details "JWB". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings (roller safety catch absent) enamel perfect, an excellent example.
Height 53mm.
Contained in a velvet lined fitted leather case, with details to the inside lid "By Royal Appointment Gieves 27, Old Bond Street, London, W.I.". This with minor age wear.
