A rare Victorian period '1st Battalion Black Watch (Royal Highland) regimental brooch, the reverse bearing Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1890 and maker's details "F.N" (Frederick Narborough, Birmingham). Excellent condition, retaining original pin fittings, no dents or distortions and complete with all bauble decoration. A superb example.

42nd Royal Highlanders became 1st Bn. Black Watch 1st July 1881, 73rd (Perthshire) Regiment of Foot became 2nd Bn. the same day.
