A very rare Boer War period 'Royal Irish Regiment sweetheart brooch'; hollow silver horseshoe impressed 'So. Africa 1900.' with applied badge to the centre; the reverse bearing Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1900 and maker's details "MB". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no dents or distortions and complete with all bauble decoration. A superb example contained in original velvet lined presentation case.
