A fine quality scarce Second World War period 'First Canadian Army Formation Sign silver and enamel brooch'; an English made example, bearing a gold coloured maple leaf applied to a red translucent enamelled rectangle, with central black enamel bar, the reverse impressed "Sterling Silver". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel perfect, an excellent example.

The 'First Canadian Army' was raised in England on the 6th April 1942. This particular formation sign was used for vehicle markings and directional signs.
