Wild Duck in Flight Gold & Enamel Wildfowling Shooting Party Sporting Brooch by John Grinsell & Sons.

A very stylish, superbly made circa 1920's 'flying duck gold brooch' possibly commissioned for a lady or gentleman to wear at a wildfowler shoot; the bird is finely feathered with outstretched head and neck enamelled in deep blue, the underwings and tail with light rhodium plating; the reverse impressed '9ct' (9 carat gold) and with maker's details 'J.G&S' (John Grinsell & Sons, Birmingham.) in oval surround. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings with safety catch device, enamel perfect,
