Royal Air Force Pilot's Wing, circa 1930's Gold, Platinum & Diamond RAF Sweetheart Brooch.

A outstanding quality circa 1930's 'Royal Air Force diamond sweetheart brooch', the platinum plated large feathered wings fully set with diamonds, the polished central 'RAF' crest within a green enamelled laurel wreath surmounted by a King's Crown, the reverse impressed "15ct" (pre 1931, 15 carat gold) and "P.T" (Platinum). Contained in a velvet lined fitted leather case with details to the inside "By Appointment" "Gieves Ltd. 21, Old Bond St. London W.1.". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings incorporating safety catch, complete with all stones, enamel loss to top laurel leaves not affecting the appearance.
