WW1 'Thumbs Up' Good Luck, Naval Signal Flag Brooch.

A scarce original First World War period 'Thumbs Up' good luck brooch, in the form of a gilt Naval Signal flag, white enamel with blue edging, signifying 'About to Sail'; the central frame depicts the head and shoulders of a naval officer smoking a pipe, with sailing ship in background, the reverse with maker's details "T.Fattorini Bolton". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no stress or damage to the enamel, gilt remains bright, flagpole complete, an excellent example.
