WW1 Royal Flying Corps Gilt Pilot Wing RFC Sweetheart Brooch by Phillips Aldershot.

An exceptional scarce original First World War period 'Royal Flying Corps brooch', gilded brass wings bearing "RFC" cypher on blue enamel ground to the centre with "Per Ardua Ad Astra" (Through Adversity to the Stars) motto below; the reverse with unusual maker's details "Phillips Aldershot". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage or stress marks to the enamel, gilt remains bright, an excellent example.
