A scarce First World War period '28th County of London Artists Rifles sweetheart brooch'; depicting the conjoined heads of the Roman Gods Mars and Minerva in profile, with "Artists Rifles" title scroll below and mounted on a slim bar; the reverse of the badge impressed "Sterling Silver" with maker's details "C.T&S." the bar also with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1916. Good condition, retaining original pin fittings, small loss of enamel to left side scroll
