WW1 28th County of London Artists Rifles 1917 Hallmarked Gold & Enamel Sweetheart Bar Brooch.

A scarce original First World War period 'Artists Rifles gold and enamel sweetheart brooch', the badge of the regiment depicting the conjoined heads of the Roman Gods Mars and Minerva in profile, with "Artists Rifles" title scroll below and mounted on a slim bar; the reverse bearing Birmingham 9 carat gold hallmarks for 1917 and maker's details "E.A.P & Co". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel intact, but please note evidence of cold enamel restoration to ribbon ends.
