WW2 Air Transport Auxiliary Gold & Enamel ATA Pilot's Wing Brooch.

A very rare original Second World War period discreet 'Air Transport Auxiliary jewellers quality gold brooch'; oval blue enamel central device bearing "ATA" logo, set within finely feathered petite wings, the reverse impressed "9ct" (9 carat gold). Very good condition, retaining the original pin fittings incorporating safety roller catch in good working order, enamel perfect, an excellent example.

'Air Transport Auxiliary' created 1939 and based in White Waltham, Maidenhead, Berkshire. It was disbanded in 1945.
