Boer War, South African Constabulary 1901 Hallmarked Silver Horseshoe Regimental Brooch in Presentation Case.
A rare Boer War period 'South African Constabulary regimental brooch'; hollow silver horseshoe mounted with a Tudor Crowned 'SAC' monogram resting in a laurel wreath; the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1901 and maker's details "F.N" (Frederick Narborough, Birmingham). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, contained in an original Victorian velvet lined fitted presentation case.
Height 37mm.
'Major-General Robert Baden-Powell' was the first Inspector General of the 'South African Constabulary' it was disbanded in 1908.
