WW2 Royal Corps of Signals Gold & Enamel Regimental Sweetheart Brooch.

A fine quality circa 1940's period 'Royal Corps of Signals regimental gold and enamel brooch' depicting "Mercury" the winged messenger of the Gods, referred to by the Corps as "Jimmy" with Latin motto "Certa Cito" (Swift and Sure) scroll below; the reverse impressed "9ct" (9 carat gold) and "Plat" (Platinum). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings incorporating safety roller catch in good working order, enamel with very minor defect to scroll.
