A scarce original and very unusual First World War period fine quality 'Machine Gun Corps presentation brooch'; depicting crossed vickers guns surmounted by a crown, the reverse bearing London silver hallmaks for 1918, maker's details "G&SCo Ltd" (Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd, Regent Street, London) and inscribed "MGC Gratitude & Service Alnwick 1917 - 1918". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings.
Height 22mm.
