WW1 Australian Military Forces Button & Kangaroo Regimental Sweetheart Brooch.

A scarce original First World War period 'Australian Military Forces sweetheart brooch'; a recognised design consisting of a gilt officer's uniform button bearing Crowned map of Australia adapted and mounted within a 'Waratah' leaf and flower wreath surround, surmounted by a kangaroo and red enamel title "Australia"; the reverse with maker's details "J.R.Gaunt Pat Appd For" and "Rd 654376" a registered, design and patent date of 1916. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, gilt remains bright, enamel perfect.
