WW1 New Zealand Military Forces Regimental Button Sweetheart Brooch.

A scarce original First World War period 'New Zealand Military Forces sweetheart brooch'; a recognised design consisting of a gilt officer's uniform button bearing 'Southern Cross star constellation adapted and mounted within a 'Fern' leaf wreath surround, surmounted by "NZ" with motto below "Onward"; the reverse with maker's details "J.R.Gaunt Pat Appd For" and "Rd 654373" a registered, design and patent date of 1916. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, gilt remains bright.
