6th Gurkha Rifles Gold Regimental Sweetheart Brooch with Presentation Case.

A superb quality pre-1931 period '6th Gurkha Rifles sweetheart brooch'; jeweller made crossed kukris, "6" resting between the grips, the central point mounted with solitaire blue stone; the reverse impressed "15ct" (pre-1931 15 carat gold). Immaculate condition, contained in what appears to be its original velvet lined fitted leather case with details to the inner lid "Est 1869." "Weir & Sons 96, Grafton St. 1,2 & 3 Wicklow St. Dublin.".

In 1947 the '6th Gurkha Rifles' was transferred to the British Army and in 1960 was redesignated '6th Queen Elizabeth's Own Gurkha Rifles'.
