WW1 Royal Navy Submarine Service, Hallmarked Silver and Gold Miniature Submarine Boat Sweetheart Brooch.

An extremely rare First World War period fine quality 'Royal Navy Submarine Service sweetheart brooch'; hollow silver ornate elongated backing mounted with a raised submarine badge, the front of which is heavily gold plated, the reverse impressed with silver hallmarks and maker's details both hard to read. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, complete with all masks, no dents or distortions that these style of brooches are prone to, an excellent example complete with green velvet lined fitted leather case bearing tooled gilt initials to the lid.
