WW1 25th County of London Battalion (Cyclists) Regimental Sweetheart Brooch.

A rare original First World War period '25th County of London Battalion sweetheart brooch'; gilded brass example following the lines of the cap badge, a cycle wheel with blue enamel title circlet in turn within a crowned laurel wreath with motto scroll below "Tenax et Audax" (Tenacious and bold). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel intact manufactures infill flaw to lower scroll, gilt remains fresh.

The '25th County of London Battalion' headquarters were in Fulham and 'F Company' came from Harrods, the Knightsbridge store.
