A scarce First World War period Canadian Expeditionary Force '79th Overseas Manitoba Battalion sweetheart brooch' in the form of a gilt and enamel maple leaf depicting a buffalo; the reverse with evidence of having had a pin shank and hook removed many years ago, otherwise I would have classified this as good condition, enamel with minor imperfection to bottom left scroll, gilt remains fresh. Price reflects.
