A superb quality Elizabeth II period 'Royal Air Force brooch'; Queen's Crowned mounted circlet inlaid with light blue enamel, bearing RAF motto "Per Ardua ad Astra" (Through adversity to the stars); central superimposed eagle extending over the circle; the reverse impressed with Birmingham 9 carat gold hallmarks for 1979 and maker's details "J.W.B". Excellent condition, retaining original pin fittings incorporating safety roller catch in good working order, enamel perfect.
