West African Frontier Force, W.A.F.F. Gold & Enamel Sweetheart Brooch.
A scarce circa 1928 period British Made 'West African Frontier Force gold and enamel sweetheart brooch'; fine quality unmarked precious metal in the form of a palm tree resting on a 'W.A.F.F.' blue enamel scroll. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings incorporating safety roller catch in good working order, enamel perfect.

'West African Frontier Force' (WAFF) had its origins in 1897. Formed in 1900, receiving Royal patronage in 1928 when King George V became Colonel in Chief and thus became 'Royal West African Frontier Force' (RWAFF). Disbanded 1960.
