A very scarce fin quality Great War period 'Patriotic Flag brooch' displaying crossed Union and French flag vividly enamelled and mounted to a S.M.L.E rifle; the reverse impressed "Sterling Silver and with maker's details "G.V&Co" (Gourdel Vales & Co, Great Marlborough Street, London). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
