WW1 'Canadian 2nd Infantry Battalion CEF' 1917 Hallmarked Silver & Enamel Sweetheart Brooch.

A scarce original First World War period fine quality 'Canadian Expeditionary Force 2nd Infantry Battalion sweetheart brooch'; maple leaf design bearing Crown above "2 Battalion" and Latin motto "Semper Paratus" (Always Ready), the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1917 and maker's details "G.A&S". Very good condition, the original pin fittings replaced with a much later period pin bar with safety roller catch, enamel perfect except for a small nick to the '2'.
