A scarce original circa 1913 -1920 period '50th Regiment (Gordon Highlanders of Canada) sweetheart brooch'; gilded brass example in the form of a 'Grizzly Bear' with incorrectly spelt motto "BUAION NO BAS" instead of the correct "BUAIDH NO BAS" (Victory or Death). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel perfect.

50th Regiment (Gordon Highlanders of Canada) were a pre-1914 militia unit formed in Victoria, British Columbia. They amalgamated with the 88th Regiment to form the Canadian Scottish in 1920.
